Winged Horse Bindery
A traditional bindery offering services to recreate historic bindings.
The Winged Horse Bindery was founded in February 2018 by M. Steel as part of his ongoing training and development in the field of bookbinding.
The commercial offerings of the bindery focus on new sketchbooks, journals, and other blank books, as well as the complete rebinding of existing books.
Meet the binder
Mike originally picked up his fascination with bookbinding from his own collection of antique and historic books. He began picking up a few simple repair and restoration techniques when he was studying at university and needed to find a cheaper way to conserve or restore his more fragile books.
Since then he has studied and trained in several different methods of restoration and binding. He started the Winged Horse Bindery as a way to share his love of bookbinding with others and as a way to create and market beautiful books.
